This publication analyses the influence of German propaganda press on the Ottoman press in the 20th century. Illustrating the rise of the Ottoman press in the beginning of the 20th century, the author analyses the methods of the German propaganda press to infiltrate the Ottoman press, focusing on the newspaper “Ottoman Lloyd”.
Especially after the revolution of 1908, the German press had a major influence, which resulted in a positive image of the German state and its illustration in the articles of “Lloyd”. Dr. Farah also focuses on the arising conflicts before the 1st world war and the attempt to influence the Ottoman politics in favour for Germany.
