Stephanie Dornschneider-Elkink is Assistant Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations at University College Dublin. Drawing on cases from the Arab World, her research combines qualitative and computational methods to explore the psychological foundations of social behavior. Her research has appeared in journals including Perspectives on Politics, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, and Cognitive Science. She is the author of Hot Contention, Cool Abstention: Positive Emotions and Protest Behavior During the Arab Spring (Oxford University Press, 2021).
This project conducts interviews with women in Lebanon to unpack the role of women and religion in post-conflict societies. Conflict studies show that women are important contributors to conflict resolution and that their empowerment is crucial to conflict resolution efforts.
