Dr. Sara Binay holds a position at the president’s office of the Hochschule Anhalt - University of Applied Scienes in Saxony-Anhalt. Before, she was a member of the founding team of the newly established Berlin Institute of Islamic Theology of the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. In 2015-2017 she had a placement by the German Agency for International Collaboration (GIZ) as a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Sharia of the University of Jordan. This is how she came into the field of Islamic theology and ethics regarding the Sustainable Development Goals.

So far, she has been to the OIB twice: first, as a student of Arabic literature in 1997, and, second, as a research fellow in the years 2005-2008.
