“Equity, Justice and Climate Change”
Abstract:
Dr Anna M. Gade will discuss key intersections of environmental and biomedical ethics today. She demonstrates that theoretical and practical perspectives from Islamic ethics address fundamental challenges in the field of public health, especially equity and justice in light of climate change.
Bio:
Dr Anna M. Gade is Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Having authored two major books on the Qur’an, her most recent book is Muslim Environmentalisms: Religious and Social Foundations (Columbia University Press, 2019). Her forthcoming work is on new paradigms for environmental ethics.
