Orient-Institute Beirut.
Dear colleagues and friends
We cordially invite you to participate in our two days-workshop that has been designed to provide a collaborative forum to share ways of opening-up our research and publishing practice. In three sessions we wish to explore what Open Science is and what it can become in our respective working fields and research practice. We will address modes of collaboration on openness in academic knowledge production as well as questions related to technical infrastructure and appropriate strategies of publishing texts or research data open access. In addition, we are planning to evaluate directions of possible future cooperations between the workshop’s participants.
You don't need to bring any previous knowledge. We will learn together the basics and practical ways of implementing Open Science in your own work.
The workshop and evening lecture will be conducted in English. We kindly invite researchers, students, library staff and everyone interested in the topic to participate. At the end of the workshop, we will be happy to issue a certificate of participation. The workshop sessions will be conducted by Dr. Maike Neufend and Maxi Kindling (Open Access Office Berlin) and Marcel Wrzesinski (Humboldt Institute for Internet and
Society Berlin).
