The Orient-Institut Beirut (OIB), a research institute of the Max Weber Foundation, which is directly funded by the German government, is seeking to fill the position of
Research Associate in Cairo
preferably from 1 October 2026. The position involves a 20-hour working week. The post is initially limited to one year and is renewable. It reports to the OIB-directorate in Beirut. The place o f work is Cairo. Employment will be under an Egyptian contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the salary scale of the DAAD office in Cairo. For legal reasons, only Egyptian nationals or other nationalities with a work permit for Egypt may be employed.
