Das biographische Lexikon des Ṣalāḥaddīn Ḫalīl b. Aibak aṣ-Ṣafadī. (Part 4)
NEW EDITION of BI 6, volume 4
Ṣalāḥaddīn Ḫalīl Ibn Aibak aṣ-Ṣafādī
Ṣalāḥaddīn Ḫalīl Ibn Aibak aṣ-Ṣafādī (d. 764/1363) was a historian of Turkish descent best known for his al-Wāfī bi-l-wafayāt, a biographical encyclopedia, which in the Bibliotheca Islamica includes 30 volumes with two additional volumes of indices.
Nearly fifty years after its first publication, this new edition of volume 4 (Muḥammad b. Ubaidallāh to Muḥammad b. Maḥmūd) is based on four manuscripts, which allowed to revise the text and expand the number of biographies included in this volume. It is edited by Muḥammad al-Ḥuǧairi.
