A delegation from the OIB, including Dr. Jens Hanssen, Dr.Thomas Würtz, Dr. Yasmin Amin, Dr. Ahmed Abd ElSalam and Dr. Carol Hakim visited His Eminence Professor Dr. Nazir Ayyad - Grand Mufti of Egypt, and Head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Houses and Authorities worldwide to discuss frameworks for joint cooperation in various fields, including: producing critical manuscript editions, correcting misconceptions, holding conferences, joint training programs, and specialized workshops.
During the meeting, His Eminence the Mufti stressed the importance of scientific and cultural cooperation between research and religious institutions worldwide, noting that the Egyptian Dar al-Iftaa has extensive experience in the fields of fatwa and correcting misconceptions, in addition to verifying heritage manuscripts, which are considered an intellectual treasure.
His Eminence said: "Cooperation with international research institutions enhances cultural dialogue and contributes to achieving a deeper understanding of common issues."
For his part, the German Institute delegation expressed its happiness with this fruitful meeting, noting that "the Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa is a pioneering model in employing knowledge to serve intellectual and humanitarian issues."
The delegation members also expressed their appreciation for the active role played by the Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa in spreading moderate understanding and promoting the values of dialogue, stressing their aspiration to implement joint training programs and workshops that contribute to the exchange of experiences and enrichment of knowledge.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to develop a joint action plan that includes holding international conferences, workshops and training programs aimed at enhancing cooperation in common areas between the two parties, in a way that serves intellectual, cultural and humanitarian issues.
