The Orient Institute Beirut (OIB) and Der Divan – The Arab Cultural Centre are pleased to announce an extension of the nomination period for the first round of the Riwaq Prize for Science and Culture.
In response to strong interest and numerous enquiries, the deadline for nominations has been extended by two weeks. Scholarly monographs may now be nominated until 14 February 2026.
In the current round, the prize is open to humanities monographs with a thematic focus on Arab cultures and societies, published in Arabic, English, or German. Eligible publications must have been first published between 1 January 2022 and 14 February 2026.
Monographs by scholars at all career stages are eligible. Nominations may be submitted by established scholars and publishers. Please note that self-nominations by authors are not accepted .
