The Orient-Institut Beirut (OIB) is a non-profit German academic research center and part of the Max Weber Foundation – International Humanities, mainly funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It conducts and supports research on the Near East and the larger Arab world in past and present.
The library of the OIB is a research library. It provides a collection of books, journals and newspapers that comprises around 130.000 volumes. The collection includes text editions as well as literature related to Middle East studies in Arabic and many western languages.
